Competency Based Education

CBE provides the learner with the specific knowledge and skills needed to:

  • Satisfy particular (occupational) industrial needs, or
  • Help the learner obtain and maintain employment in the specialisation of his choice.
  • CBE assure increased effectiveness and efficiency of instruction as tasks are made known to each instructor and student prior to instruction.
  • CBE assure the ability (competence) of students to perform tasks under pre-specified conditions and according to prescribed standards
  • CBE assures employers of a more consistent quality of work performance.

Curriculum Development (ADDIE System Approach)

Students Admission

The College Council recommends to the Managing Director the number of students to be enrolled in a particular academic year.

Student admission conditions :
1.Saudi nationality
2.Recent holder of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) (Science) or the Trade (Industry) secondary certificate or equivalent.
3.Physical fit and pass the medical test.
4.Pass the  National Aptitude Test (NAT)
5.Calculate Balance Entry Points (BEP)

The composite Balance Entry Points (BEP) are used as the basis of admission to the college

Graduation Requirements

To be eligible for the associate degree/BSc , students in YIC programs must satisfy the following conditions:

1.Complete a minimum of 70 semester credit hours for AS.
2.Complete a minimum of 140-142 semester credit hours for BSc.
3.Achieve an overall cumulative GPA of not less than 2.0.
4.Successfully complete the cooperative work experience and a final presentation in accordance with the hours stated in the program for associate degree
5.Successfully complete all the course requirements in accordance with his specialization program.
