YIC offers Associate degree programs to full time regular male Saudi students in Engineering Technology. The medium of instruction for all the programs at YIC is English. The three-year (plus 14- week Cooperative Training) Associate degree programs are available.

Upon completing the Foundation Year program, students will advance to the Associate Degree program where they can choose from a range of specialized field according to their interest. The specialization fields offered by YIC includes

Admission Requirements for Associate Degree for Regular Student

NO   ASSOCIATE DEGREE
1. Nationality Saudi (or mother's nationality should be Saudi)
2. Minimum academic requirement 80 % in High School certificate in General Science (earned not earlier than three years from the date of application for admission) 75 % in High School certificate in Arts, Commerce or Management (earned not earlier than three years from the date of application for admission)
3. Balance Entry Points (BEP) High School Certificate 20% weightage 60% weightage
Qiyas (National Apitude Test NAT) 30% weightage 40% weightage
Tehseeri (National Secondary) 50% weightage NA
4. Documents Required Copy of national ID card or proof of mother being a Saudi national
Original High school certificate
Letter from Qiyas endorsing that you have taken the test (Printout of your marks in the test posted on Qiyas website is accepted for this requirement)

Admission Procedure for Regular Student

STEP 1: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM STEP 2: APPLICATION OUTCOME STEP 3: SEND NECESSARY DOCUMENTS STEP 4: ENROL AT YIC

Complete an online application form, which is posted on the YIC website www.yic.edu.sa three weeks after completion of the nationwide High School Exams. After submitting the online form, keep a printout of the computer generated receipt with your ‘application number’ on it for reference. This will be required at a later stage during the admission process.

The application process normally takes about one week after which the Admissions Department posts the ‘Cut-off percentage’ for the different programs on the YIC College website. If your Balance Entry Point-BEP is
equal to or more than the Cut-off percentage requirement of YIC, you will be eligible for admission in
your desired program. (Please see ‘Admission Requirements table’ for calculation of BEP
requirement) The merit list is generated automatically by the computer, so, shortlisted students can check their name on the YIC College website.
Once you find your name in the shortlist for admission in your program, send necessary documents by Saudi Post to YIC. (Please see ‘Admission Requirements table’ for list of ‘required documents’) The Admission Department will post a link on the College website, asking you to send your original documents.
YIC has an agreement with Saudi Post to safely deliver your original degrees and transcripts at the College. So, you just have to submit your documents to your nearest Saudi Post office and they will do the rest. Don’t forget to collect your receipt with the bar code from Saudi Post
Following verification of your documents, the Admissions department will post your Admission ID number and an invitation message to visit YIC and choose your room in the Students Hostel. The room can be chosen online also on the College website. Instructions are posted with the invitation

Transfer from Other Colleges and Universities to YIC

It is possible for students from other colleges and universities to get a transfer to Yanbu Industrial College in Associate degree. The eligibility is by the condition that the student fulfill the nationality requirement as per Associate Degree programs (see the admission requirements above). The Managing Director decides about granting permission for transfer to students based on the recommendations from the College Admissions Committee. A maximum of 25 semester credit hours for courses that received a grade of ‘C’ (2.00) or above may be transferred to YIC.

Students seeking transfer to YIC must provide the following documents during their application

  • Copy of national ID card or proof of mother being a Saudi national.
  • An identification letter from his college/university verifying that he was a regular student.
  • Original transcripts of subjects completed in the student's current college/university. These courses will be evaluated for transferability by the department to which the student applies.

Admission Procedure for Transfer Student

Submit an application explaining your reason for seeking a transfer to YIC. The application must be given to the office of the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) – Students Affairs department, YIC at the following address:

The Managing Director decides about admissions to student seeking transfer from other Saudi colleges and universities on recommendation of the YIC Admissions Committee. After evaluation of your application the Admissions Department will give you a phone call to submit your original documents for verification. You can send necessary documents by Saudi Post to YIC.
