GENERAL STUDIES

The Department of General Science is one of the eight instructional departments of Yanbu Industrial College. It is located at the ground floor of the General Science Building, and equipped with two Physics Laboratories as well as Computing, Photocopying and Internet facilities. Consisting of 31 multi-national faculty members headed by the Head of Department. It offers several courses under regular programs as well as special programs of study in various disciplines, e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Islamic Studies and Physical Education. The existing staff comprises of 13 PhD, 14 MPhil / MSc and 6 Bachelor degree holders.

The Department of General Science is playing a significant role in establishing students' foundation for their technical and professional education at the college. The main objective of the department is to enhance students' scientific knowledged and skills to a level that can enable them not only to undertake further studies in their chosen specialization but also to acquire a sound level of competency for industrial professions.

The department is providing its students with all curricular and extra-curricular services that include teaching, tutoring, coaching, counseling and guidance. At present, there are 12 Assistant Professors, one Senior Lecturer, 14 Lecturers, one Senior Instructor and 5 PE Instructors serving the department.
