Mechanical Engineering Technology  

Welcome

Built on a long tradition of excellence, the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology has become synonymous with accomplishments and leadership in engineering education in Saudi Arabia. Fifty-two faculty members are dedicated in educating over 1000 Associate and Bachelor degree students in different programs. High level research programs are in pipeline to compliment our educational mission, address the evolving needs of industry and society, and to contribute towards economic and social development.

The Mechanical Engineering Technology Department has a strong background in engineering education and not limited to the following areas:

  • Fluid Mechanics and Turbomachines
  • Heat Transfer
  • Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
  • Manufacturing and Materials Processing

  • Systems, Measurement & Control
  • Computer Integrated Manufacturing

The objectives of the undergraduate curriculum is to prepare its graduates to embark on professional engineering careers as educated, responsible citizens, who have both the motivation and ability for lifelong personal and professional growth. The curriculum provides a solid foundation in basic engineering principles while at the same time expanding student reasoning, communication and problem solving skills.

One of the Department’s most valued resources is our alumni. For over a decade, YIC’s Mechanical Engineering alumni have made significant contributions in industry, education and government. It is our alumni who are the ultimate creators and guardians of YIC’s Mechanical Engineering reputation.
