Yanbu Industrial College is committed to providing continuing education for members of the community, professionals and industrial employees who wish to advance their careers or augment their skills and knowledge. To this end, YIC offers various technical and management courses to the community. These courses are offered during every semester and the medium of instruction is in English and/or Arabic. The continuing education classes are held in the evenings to facilitate the working day of the community as a whole. Short intensive courses could be provided to group(s) from specific industries or companies and with special arrangements of timing and periods as per an agreement between the company and the college.

The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu was established in 1975 by a royal decree for developing the infrastructural facilities in the two industrial cities of Jubail on the Arabian Gulf and Yanbu on the Red Sea, with the objective of building an integrated industrial base that uses and develops the local natural resources.

Yanbu Industrial College, an affiliate of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, was established in 1989 to achieve the objectives of the Royal Commission, in developing human resources and to provide the Saudi manpower with high technical education and training, so that they can properly manage the Kingdom's growing economy in its various sectors. Yanbu Industrial College is located at the center of Yanbu Industrial City, about 350 km north of Jeddah on the Red Sea side. It is noted for its beautiful buildings and vast green surroundings. The college commitment is to provide Saudi nationals with the technical, scientific and academic skills required by the industrial and other economic sectors it serves. To meet this responsibility the College is equipped with modern instructional media such as computers, audio visual aids, well-equipped specialized laboratories and advanced technical workshops.

The College instructional programs have been designed to provide 2 years specialization programs leading to the Associate Degree, for those who possess high secondary school certificates or equivalent, in technical and management fields aligned with the manpower needs in the Kingdom's growing economy.
